Bred by Francisque Morel (France, 1914).
Introduced by William Robinson as 'Gravetye Beauty'.
Class:
Group 3, Late, Small-flowered, Texensis-Viorna Group.  
Bloom:
Red.  4 to 6 petals.  Average diameter 3.25".  Small, single, tulip-shaped bloom form.  Midsummer to midautumn.  
Habit:
Height of 6' to 9' 10" (185 to 300 cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Disease susceptibility: mildew.  This plant blooms on the current season's growth.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
