Origin:
Bred by Aili Kivistik (Estonia, 1982). Bred by Uno Kivistik (Estonia, 1982).
Class:
Early Large Flowered, Group 3.  
Bloom:
Violet, dark red anthers, ages to violet-red .  4 to 6 petals.  Average diameter 8".  Large, single bloom form.  Late spring to early summer, late summer.  
Habit:

Height: 5' to 6' (150 to 185cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Suitable for growing in a container.  It blooms on the previous year's growth, so resist the urge to prune it in early spring.

Latin name of the genus and species: Clematis jackmanii.
In 1982 the inventor, Aili Kivistik a citizen of Estonia, organized a group of unnamed, unpatented Clematis jackmanii varieties for an open pollination breeding project. Seeds originating from this crossing were planted out, and the new variety was selected in 1985
