I have been sharing much material on the roses of Sam McGredy IV.
Before I progress further on a new direction, I have made a listing of the McGredy roses of which HelpMeFind has no photos. Can anyone contribute their own photographs of the following roses?

I recently bought a Top Notch (Simply the Best) floribunda rose. I love it!

I would like to obtain permission to propagate two more of these roses for my future rose garden.

Are you the right one to contact for this permission, or is there someone else I need to contact?

Thanks so much,

Do you know where t locate Elizabeh Philp, Liverool or Liverpool Echo in California?

If these are not grown in California, where could they be found?

Thank you for any advice you may provide.

Have you checked the rose pages for these roses?  Just click on "roses" on the navigation bar to the left and enter the rose name in the search field.  This will bring you to a link page with the rose names listed.  If they are included in our database, you can click on the rose name and be taken to the rose page.  Then click on the "Available From" tab in the upper right portion of the page and and list of nurseries which have informed us that they carry this rose in their inventory will ge listed.

Good luck finding your roses.

Lyn,  Thank you for your suggestions find  the breeder of the rose I'm looking for.  I'm looking for the rose named Melanie (aka MACmelan) bred in New Zealand in 1988 by Sam McGredy.  I've sent a message to his question and comment site, but have not heard back.  Do you have any other ideas?

Thank you,  Linda  (

All I can tell you about Mr. MacGredy is that he retired several years ago.  My best advice, for now, is to put the rose on your HelpMeFind wish list and if we get a sponsor that shows this roses in their inventory, you will automatically be notified.

Lyn,  Thank you so much for responding.  Your response  is most encouraging.  In my area, a local nursery had Melanie in their special order catalog at one time  but discontinued it.  I will add it to My Wish List immediately.  Hopefully, someday, I'll find it.

Best Regards,

Go to the rose page for 'Liverpool' and click on the BUY FROM tab and you will find one vendor in the UK that has indicated that they carry this rose in their inventory. To get to the rose page, just click "Roses" on the navigation bar to the left; enter 'liverpool' or even just part of the name in the search field; click search, then click the appropriate link that comes up.
