Do you still sell a rose called "Emma". If so , how do I go about buying one, and getting it shipped to the UK? Many thanks Neal Pittuck

Emma is only a florist rose, not a rose-tree that you can plant in your garden. Sorry. You just can buy it in florist shops as a bouquet.

I have seen the name Meidiland and Meilland associated with rose Sevillana. Is Meilland the name of the developers and Meidiland a name that has been trademarked to guard against imitators? Sevilliana caught my eye this last weekend. Very nice. Ben Younglove, Lafayette Colorado

The old French rose nursery was started by a man named Meilland. But now there are two companies and the new one uses the name Meidiland for their roses.

Meilland is the name of a french family of rose breeders (the sixth generation now) and Meidiland is the name of a range of landscape rose-trees.created by Meilland. La Sevillana belongs to this family.

Having read (many times over the years) the book 'For Love of a Rose' by Antonia Ridge, I am at last hoping to tour France in 2004, specifically to visit the Meilland Rose Gardens which used to be in Lyons and at the Cap D'Antibes. It has long been an ambition of mine, but now I wonder if the gardens still exist at these locations in France - and, indeed, if they are open to the public. I would be most grateful for any information about them.

Near Lyon, in Tassin the place stills exists, it is a garden center with offices. We are no longer at Cap d'Antibes because of the construction presure, we are now in Le Var department, in a place called Le Cannet-des-Maures where is made all the creation of our new rose varieties for garden and for cut flower as well. Regards
