Award of Excellence (AOE)
The Award of Excellence (AOE) for Miniatures was established by the American Rose Society
in 1975. [As described in the American Rose
, October 1998, p. 24:] The American Rose Society's highest award for miniature roses, the Award of Excellence, is presented to cultivars which have proven to be outstanding in designated test gardens through the United States over a two-year period... The evaluation program, which was developed in 1974, is open to both commercial and amateur hybridizers. This program has recently undergone significant changes, including the addition of more test sites. Contact the American Rose Society for more information.
