Climbing Miniatures
[From Miniature Roses: Their Care and Cultivation, by Sean McCann, p. 15:] Climbing miniatures received a boost in 1989, when Chris Warner, then an amateur breeder, wom the coveted Gold Medal and President's International Trophy of the Royal National Rose Society in England with one of his newest varieties... Warner described what a miniature climber should be. 'Miniature climbers should have narrower stems, smaller foliage, and flowers less than 2 in (5 cm).'
[From Climbing Roses, by Stephen Scanniello, p. 8:] Developed largely through the efforts of Ralph Moore in California… most climbing miniaturse are cultivars, not sports.
