I have received several orders from Long Ago, and I have been very pleased with all of the plants sent out. The roses arrive in excellent condition, and I am particularly impressed with Linda's careful and economical shipping practices (plants are shipped using USPS flat-rate boxes).

Linda is very responsive, patient and knowledgeable about her roses, and has recommended some fine varieties for my conditions. She has a very nice selection, very reasonable prices and is very quick to respond to questions about her stock. I highly recommend this vendor.

To be fair and accurate, the only restriction preventing them from shipping to those states is their choice not to expose themselves to the pesticides required by those states to treat plants shipped there against Japanese Beetles. Those states require all stock originating where the beetles exist to be dunked into a pesticide drench to prevent their spread. If the nursery owner wished to handle the pesticides and expose herself and all around her to them, she could treat the plants as those states require before shipping. They choose not to expose themselves to the required pesticides. While that does limit our choices a bit as well as deprive her of the pleasure of our business, you have to respect her choice not to handle toxins she deems potentially harmful.

I am not surprised that there is a good reason, and I am not arguing against them not sending, I'm just sad (hence the boo hoo!) that I can't buy from them. But it would be nice to have notice a little earlier on in the process on the website of getting to that nursery to buy from it.

And in the process of trying to remove what I added to my original post in order to put it here, I have been unable to remove from the original post. sorry

Tough, fast-growing little roses. Much better than your average bands!!! Sturdy, lol :) I didn't have to baby them a bit.

I have purchased a wide variety of OGR's, more than 30 from Linda at Long ago roses and I would like to tell everyone , her roses arrive thriving, full of green growth and ready to bloom or do so soon after arrival.

Ideally, you should use the Ratings tab on their HMF listing to record your opinion as many site guests use the nursery ratings to help them pick a supplier. Thanks.
