Nursery first established by Max Goos as M. J. Goos on August 1, 1885. On February 1, 1887 August Koenemann joins as Partner and the nursery is renamed Goos & Koenemann. August Koenemann died 1910 and Max Goos in 1917. Hermann Goos (b. 1894), the elder son of Max Goos, joined the company in 1913 as an apprentice, but left 1914 for World War I. After the war he finalized his studies as a Doctor and philosophy and re-entered the Company in 1922. Dr. Hermann Goos died on February 23, 1933. Goos & Koenemann was managed by Friedrich Bücher until 1951.
