Sadly, this is now on the Pickering Website:

Pickering Nurseries to close permanently.
Thank you for visiting us and following our company. Though we had planned to reopen this spring it obviously didn’t happen.

After a great deal of soul-searching I have come to the decision that my future doesn’t lie in the rose business. My attempts at rooting roses showed promise (it’s not that hard really) and I have composed a complete and viable business plan. But to be honest my heart just isn’t in it, though even as I write this I teeter back and forth.

So, Pickering Nurseries is now closed permanently. I thank you for all the successful years we enjoyed.

Best regards,
Joel Schraven

I am looking for two Chandos Beauty. Do you sell and ship to the United States? I live in Indiana.

I've ordered from Pickering on several occasions. The selection is superb and service is great. The bare root plant sizes are far larger than most nurseries, although most plants are grafted. For providing a quick show from your rose, Pickering is a leader.

I have ordered from Pickering Nurseries for years. After ordering from several other quite good companies they have become my favorite because they have a huge selection, their bare root shipping is very economical, and I benefit from the exchange rate.

Also, their bareroots are very large. Mine are generally two feet tall, and a plant installed in April blooms in June.

Lastly, they are very quick to respond to questions relating to plant choice. Twice I have purchased their substitutions, and twice I have been very pleased.
