From the back of the house you can see the Diner across the street, and pictures of roses posted for customers to refer to. Most of the roses are lined out on weed mat off camera to the right. The ones on shelves are chosen from the larger group to help attract passersby into the plant sale. |

I often use my left hand in a photo to help me show the size of the flower. This one seems to be around 3.5 inches. |

This Rosa hugonis, Father Hugo's Rose was planted 15 years ago in a sandy soil on a drip line. In that time no pruning has been done except the removal at mid-summer of any dead parts. |
