Gallica / Provins.  Crimson and purple..  Strong fragrance.  Medium to large, semi-double to double, borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  USDA zone 4b through 8b.  Height of 3' to 5' 7" (90 to 170 cm).  Width of up to 3' (up to 90 cm). Unknown (1588).

Damask.  Pink, white undertones, ages to lighter . .  Strong, centifolia, old rose fragrance.  Medium, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Height of 5' to 8' (150 to 245 cm).  Width of 4' to 6' (120 to 185 cm). Unknown (1612).
