I've only had this rose since March and it's now late June, but it's supposed to have best form in cool weather, and I believe it. It was pretty this spring but now in scorching heat the blooms are forming a bit too quickly, not allowing the inner petals to fully form. It'll probably do better next year with a more established root system, but the cool weather is still easier on it. I think most fragrant roses also smell better in moderately warm weather, as opposed to HOT weather.
