Introduced in France by Roseraie de l'Hay in 1900 as 'Amélie Gravereaux'.

Dark purple.  Strong fragrance.  Medium, semi-double to double, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.

Climbing.  Medium foliage.  
Height of up to 5' (up to 150 cm).  Width of up to 5' (up to 150 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4a through 5b.  Very vigorous.
