I found an unusually dark bloom on the Comtesse today, flushed heavily towards the petal edge in bright pink. Although it isn't unusual to see slightly darker edges at times on this rose, this was quite distinct and the rest of the flowers on the bush were the usual pale pink colour.

This was taken on September 10, 2019 at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in August after a record-breaking hot and rainy summer. It was one of the relatively few roses at the garden to look presentable on that day.

Holding a picked regular bloom for comparison. My garden, Sydney, 11 March, 2020.
