Bred by Dr. Frank Leith Skinner (Canada, 1939).
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Deep pink.  Clove fragrance.  Double (17-25 petals), flat, rosette bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Long sepals, long buds.  
Habit:

Height: up to 4' (up to 120cm).  Width: up to 4' (up to 120cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 2b and warmer.  Very hardy.

Notes:
The found rose "Vuosaari" was identified as 'George Will'.

Frank Skinner's 1948 catalog referred to 'George Will' as "One of our new hybrids of Rugosa-acicularis and garden Roses." Olsen suggests, on the basis of ploidy and location, that 'George Will' is probably derived from R. woodsii rather than R. acicularis. R. woodsii is much more common than R. acicularis in the Dropmore, MB area where Skinner was breeding roses (Rose Hybridizers Association Newsletter, Spring 2010, p. 6).
