My own-root Fantin-Latour isn't suckering, which surprises me. Have other growers found this?

Mine hasn't suckered in a decade or more. I wish it would!

Can anyone tell me if Fantin Latour sets hips, and if so what the resulting seedlings are like?

Yes, it sets hips. I am still waiting for my seeds planted May 9, 2016 to come up. Am not too hopeful.

That it sets hips is good to hear ( I like this rose alot) and the idea of being able to use it and produce maybe a repeating version or something sounds really appealing. So at least in theory it should be useable - shame that you haven't had any luck so far with your seeds. I hope they do come good for you in time. Are they from ones you did or O.P.?
