Origin:
Bred by Pedro (Pere) Dot (Spain, 1925).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1929 as 'Apeles Mestres'.
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1931 as 'Apeles Mestres'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual, Cl., Pernetiana, Cl..  
Bloom:
Golden-yellow and apricot.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Very large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, globular bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Glossy, dark green foliage.  

Height: up to 12' (up to 365cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Prefers full sun.  Prune lightly or not at all.
