Bred by Robert and Moreau (France, 1858).
Class:
Tea.  
Bloom:
Salmon-pink, apricot center, ages to pink .  Moderate fragrance.  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, scalloped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Glandular sepals, leafy sepals buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, well-branched.  Matte foliage.  5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
"David's Dilemma", an Australian foundling is tentatively thought to be the real 'Socrate'.
