Bred by Joseph F. Winchel (United States, 1987).
Introduced in United States by Co-Operative Rose Growers in 1990 as 'American Dream'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Dark red.  Mild, damask fragrance.  30 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, exhibition, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Tall, upright.  Large, semi-glossy, medium green, leathery foliage.  

Height: up to 5½' (up to 165cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower, exhibition or garden.  Vigorous.  produces decorative hips.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
