Dr. Thomas, Victoria.  The New Ones.
Interview, HT. (Meilland, 1968). It has been stated that this name is used, for this rose, only in Australia and that elsewhere it is known as 'Interflora'. This is incorrect. It was publicized as 'Interflora' but this name has been withdrawn officially. This is not a re-naming. Before its being released, trouble arose over the naming with the 'Interflora' international florists' organization. In fact, it was registered under this name in 1967 and it was re-registered in 1968 as 'Interview' along with the withdrawing of the earlier name. The raiser has had a distributing centre in England for a few years and advertises the rose in the Rose Annual (English) as 'Interview' with no mention of its former name. It is a wonderful grower with long lasting and well formed, medium sized blooms in light vermilion colouring. The reverse of each petal is much paler. It is eminently suited for the cut-flower trade but we are still looking for a scarlet to crimson rose of comparable quality for this huge market.

Roy and Heather Rumsey,  NSW.  New Roses.
Interview HT. ('Interflora') (Meilland). A large bloom with between 35 and 45 petals, sometimes even more. A rich colour similar to 'Super Star', but it seems to be described as scarlet overseas. This rose has very long stems, three feet or so, and is an excellent keeper. The growth is good. Being one of the better roses for this year it should also be mentioned that there is a tendency for green buds to appear which do not develop properly - occurs mainly in the spring. [('Baccara' x 'Message') x ('Baccara' x 'Jolie Madame') x ('Baccara' x 'Paris Match').]
