'Madame Plantier' rose Reviews & Comments

The mentions of sandy soil, hard to propagate, suitable farther south and no nematode evidence, in the 1927 reference leads me to think that perhaps 'Mme. Plantier' may have been confused with Fortuniana' in America at one stage.

I have a Madame Plantier rose that hasn't bloomed. It is about 4-5 feet tall the leaves are green and healthy I have had since end of May. It doesn't have any buds showing all my other roses that I bought at the same time are blooming. I feed it Shultz "bloom plus" fetiilizer (10-60-1-) it gets full sun. I am stymied on what to do to promote it to bloom. Would appriciate your suggestions. Thank-you July 29,2003 Margaret Mattoon mamattoon@gci.net

Your rose is a once-bloomer, and therefore will not produce any flowers until next year - and it almost certainly will, don't worry! It is not necessary to give it so much fertilizer as it is not as "hungry" for it as your other, repeat blooming roses - so you can just sit back and enjoy the show next spring.

I have a young 2 year plant that is already about 7 feet tall and wide. I am AMAZED at this rose!
She's up against the East facing side of my house, so in partial shade...and apparently she loves it!
Hundreds of blooms this spring...next year ought to be gorgeous.
