Registration name: Sénateur Vaïsse
Origin:
Bred by Jean-Baptiste (père) Guillot (1803-1882) (France, 1859).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1863 as 'Sénateur Vaïsse'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson to carmine-red, lighter reverse.  Strong fragrance.  32 petals.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Light green, dense foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Arena Roses 1999 Catalog presents a list of roses hybridized by the Guillot Family. This is one of the roses that is on that list.
