Bred by Francis Meilland (1912-1958) (France, before 1948).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1950 as 'Tapis Rose'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1953 as 'Tapis Rose'.
Class:
Floribunda, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Rose-pink, ages to darker .  Moderate fragrance.  40 petals.  Average diameter 2.25".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, high-centered to cupped, rounded bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, compact, mounded, upright.  Dark green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
