Origin:
Bred by M. Robert (France, 1854).
Class:
Damask Perpetual, Gallica / Provins.  
Bloom:
Violet - purple. [Light purple and lilac, darker edges.].  Very large, very full (41+ petals), button-eye, flat, old-fashioned, rosette bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Suckers on its own roots, upright.  Dark green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Prune after flowering is finished.  This rose blooms on old wood.
