Scarlet, golden-yellow , stamens. Warm scarlet blooms with yellow stamens. None to mild fragrance. Average diameter 5". Large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, flat bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
Tall, arching, bushy, spreading, upright. Matte, dense foliage.
Height of 4' 11" to 6' 7" (150 to 200 cm). Width of 6' to 7' (185 to 215 cm).
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be used for garden, hedge, landscape, pillar or shrub. Can be trained as a climber. produces decorative hips. rain tolerant. shade tolerant. Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood.. Prune after flowering is finished.
This rose was originally listed as a shrub rose in Modern Roses V. The classification has been changed to hybrid gallica per Wilhelm Kordes's book Roses, published in 1952. See REFERENCES.
