Introduced in France by Victor Verdier et fils in 1843 as 'Georges Cuvier'.

Cerise, pink shading, light pink edges. [Deep pink.]  Average diameter 2.25".  Medium, full (26-40 petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Large, blue-green foliage.  5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 2a through 6b.  
Notes:
Said to be similar to 'Beauté de Versailles'.
