Notes:
The attribution to Moreau & Robert as a Bourbon is an error by Shirley Hibberd, repeated by some later authors. The rose currently in gardens and commerce is mislabeled.

Karl Eduard Ortgies (February 19, 1829 Bremen - 1916), German horticulturist and nurseryman, worked with Joseph paxton and Louis van Houtte before becoming in 1855 the Head Gardener of the Botanical garden in Zürich, retiring in 1893. Madame Hersilie Ortgies is possibly his mother (daughter was 3 years old in 1868).
