Origin:
Bred by Hermann Kiese (Germany, circa 1896).
Introduced in Germany by J. C. Schmidt / Blumenschmidt as 'Venus'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Purple - red.  Strong fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
