Anne Drevet is a Rose I have heard a lot about, but this is the first time I have seen the wonderful combination of colours; vermilion scarlet on a yellow ground, something the colour of Queen Alexandra at its best. Like many of these highly coloured Roses, the colour fades quickly when the blooms open.

Annie Drevet. — Rouge flamme sur l'avers et jaune d'or au revers. Semi-double, ses tons sont inattaquables au soleil, même en défloraison. Arbuste vigoureux, érigé, feuillage vert franc brillant, très florifère. Certificat au Concours international Bagatelle 1938.

Annie Drevet (Mallerin) at times suggests 'Brasier', with two-toned petals of golden yellow faced with rich red inside. The blooms only carry about 15 petals, while growth is fairly good.

Annie Drevet, H.T. (Mallerin, France), is another bi-coloured variety suggestive of the Brasier, Lleida, Condesa ds Sastago group. At first thought useless, but the autumn blooms have shown very rich colouring, and should give it a chance against the older varieties. Petals number 20.

New Roses 1940. Annie Drevet (HT. Mallerin 1938) Long deep golden yellow buds which show an inner face of rich vermilion red when fully open. The growth is vigorous with strong stems. 4/- each.
An attractive colour but blooms have only 15 petals.
