My Falstaff blooms from spring until frost in Kansas, nice "smelly" English rose.

Falstaff is an eyecatching rose, that blooms either singly or in clusters. In cool weather or upon first opening, the rose is dark red; upon aging it turns more purple. Mine is all long thin canes; I have it supported by a lattice work. Blooms even in our hot Phoenix summers.

Despite beautiful big blooms in huge sprays, I would probably not recommend this rose. It gets completely defoliated from blackpot, and has very odd growth habits in Pennsylvania. It throws out enormous long stiff canes that cannot support the weight of the blooms and fall to the ground (not gracefully). It's fragrance is also questionable; not strong like many other Austin roses. On the positive side, if you are willing to spray this rose and support the canes, I have never seen such enormous bouquets of flowers on one stem.
