Bred by Gilbert Nabonnand (France, 1899).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1921 as 'Général Galliéni'.

Tea.  
Bloom:
Red, dark red shading, golden-yellow center.  Tea fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Well-branched.  
Height of 35" to 6' 7" (90 to 200 cm).  Width of 2' to 5' 11" (60 to 180 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Notes:
Joseph Simon Galliéni, Marshal of France, born at Saint-Réat in Haute-Garonne 24 April 1849. Died at Versailles 27 March 1916. Created a Marshal of France posthumously 21 April 1921.
