Origin:
Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, 1957).
Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1958 as 'Golden Sun'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1959 as 'Goldene Sonne'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Golden-yellow.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 5".  Very large, double (17-25 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  Glossy foliage.  

Height: up to 4'11" (up to 150cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
