Origin:
Bred by Gordon J. Von Abrams (United States, 1961).
Introduced in United States by Peterson & Dering as 'High Esteem'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1965 as 'High Esteem'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Pink blend.  Phlox pink with silver center and reverse.  Strong, fruity fragrance.  28 to 35 petals.  Average diameter 6".  Borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Compact, upright.  Large, leathery foliage.  

Height: 35" to 4' (90 to 120cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
