John Nieuwesteeg, Victoria. .... And just last week Barry Waring rang to say he had seen a rose in a garden at the Romsey H.R.A. Open Day tagged ‘Mab Grimwade’, Clark 1937. It wasn’t until he got home that he realised it was an Alister Clark rose on the “wanted” list. From his description is sounds as though it may be the right thing. At least it is yellow-toned rather than the pink rose which was earlier submitted as Mab Grimwade. I guess this will mean a trip to Romsey at some stage, but that will have to wait until autumn because our budding season is about to start and I will be too busy to look at other people’s roses.
