I recommend that you stay completely away from Growquest. There is a history of online complaints about the owner similar to mine, which was that I was cheated out of over $200.

OMG I just got on Dave's Garden and looked at Growquest!!!! This is serious, serious fraud! This is the type of thing that might be profiled on CSNBC's "American Greed" show!!! WOW.

Yes, it's so horrible it would make a great story, but if you go to his website he's still acting as if his business is for real. He should be in prison.

Yes, I agree with the posts on Growquest. I also got taken by them several years ago for $39... not anything like $200, thank goodness, but still enough. I contacted Better Business Bureau with no results and he posted some excuse like he was going through a divorce and his wife took most of his assets.

Pretty sure this rose is sold here in Australia as "Father's Love" (after that name they have "( Var. Meikarouz)") , according to Corporate Roses, who distribute Meilland roses here.
I bought one after having a smell of one of them and thought it was about the best fragrance I'd come across from a red rose, and I've smelled all of Papa Meilland, Mister Lincoln, Oklahoma, Crimson Glory, Camp David, Alec's Red, Firefighter, Ekstase, Falstaff, William Shakespeare 2000, Munstead Wood, The Prince, etc.

Out of my over 200 roses...this one is one of the best bloomers and healthiest! It is one of only two roses that I have multiple plants of (the other is Hansa). Very Highly reccommended!

I've got to say, I am amazed at all the positive comments this rose gets here. I have had Rouge Royale in my yard (PNW) for almost five years, and it is one of the most disappointing. It has vigorous growth, and is disease resistant, yes, but I have literally never had a decent bloom off of it. All the blooms either ball up, or "proliferate" (in the sense of having the blooms pierced by leaves). As an example - it has been an (unseasonably) hot 90+ F here for several days, and yet the one bud I had on RR has balled up and started to rot as if it were 50 F and raining. Maybe I have a bad example of the breed, but I've got to tell you that this one is a *prime* candidate for shovel pruning in the fall. I'm so sad, because I know it can be amazing and supposedly smells wonderful, but the one I've got is a loser.
