Discovered by Ignace Hendrickx (Belgium, before 1956).
Introduced in Belgium by Grandes Pépinières C. de Coninck-Dervaes in 1956 as 'Moulin Rouge, Cl.'.
Introduced in France by URS (Universal Rose Selection)-Meilland in 1957 as 'Moulin Rouge, Cl.'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1959 as 'Moulin Rouge, Cl.'.

Bloom:
Vermilion to scarlet.  Double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
