Named after the fashion designer.

And from the Rose Barni web site:

"Named after the big "sculptor" of high fashion whose dresses have been described as masterpieces to be lived and shown in museums for everybody's joy. A big rose, "modern" for the flowers dimension, the disease resistance, the continuous flowering and the delicate tonalities of the colour, which are clear pink in the outer petals and pearly pink in the flowers middle. It is "old", on the contrary, for its petals disposition and the flowers shape, very double, quartered and slow opening, like many varieties of recent selection, coming from crosses between very different old and new roses. Charming and very strong fragrance. Height cm. 120/140."
