I have both Baltimore belle and Long John Silver planted , Baltimore Belle is more generous in its bloom quantity and blooms earlier , Long John Silver blooms later than most roses , its blooms are flatter, it also takes a bit longer to establish.

I don't (yet) grow Baltimore Belle so I can't compare it with Long John Silver. My plant of LJS is quite floriferous and continues to produce wonderful clusters of up to eight 'blooms' - four open and four fat buds - in my Oxfordshire garden - and it's a damp late October. It's beautiful, slightly ribbed foliage look really healthy, too. The fact that it is late blooming seems to me a great advantage.
