[Extract from the rose catalogue of Marie Henriette Gräfin Chotek, October 1929]
This year I am again introducing some park roses and a climber of the old master into commerce...
Further roses from Geschwinds estate
Nordlandrose II
was with me as Seedling Nr. 1. A worthy sister of Geschwinds Nordlandrose.
Broad, spreading and tall habit, magnificent dark green and clean foliage. Large to very large bloom, semi-double, flat cup form, of purest bright rose-colour, like large rosy hanging lamps shining far. One of the most magnificent Park roses. My people always called her the "freshly bathed", so pure and clean shine the colours of leaf and bloom. Immensely floriferous.
Magazine  (1939)  Page(s) 206.

I have made the trial in a similar climate with 'Nordlandrose 2 of Geschwind. These thrive magnificently. Even as a three-year old plant they surpassed two meters length. They do not need a climbing support or similar.
Book  (1939)  Page(s) 117.

....while many park roses, including Adam Messerich, Hildenbrandseck, Türke's Rugosa-Sämling, many Bourbon roses, Geschwinds Nordlandrose I and II, as well as all climbers are frozen until below the snow cover, but willingly sprout again, so that next year one can count on a beautiful bloom. The snow cover was up to 35-40 cm, the lowest temperature -28-30 °C
