I have a very old specimen from selfed seeds of Rugosa #3. I have included the pollen samples here. Every few year, it will set one hip. It is otherwise completely female sterile. I am trying its pollen this year. I usually avoid using Rugosa x moderns (they're sloppy, huge, and irregular. a pain to grow out...), but I am curious about it this year.

Therese Bugnet is growing near it. As well as Jens Munk. Mine is fully double, with quite gigantic foliage and blooms. It looks like Jens Munk on steroids. Nothing in common with Therese Bugnet, really. And the fragrant matches Jens Munk type. It is really strong, and too potent for my taste. Therese Bugnet is less clove-musk-y and more of a simple sweet briar scent, with just a tinge of clove.
