Bred by Frédéric Fauque (France, before 1909).
Introduced in France by Vigneron & fils in 1909 as 'Aviateur Blériot'.
Introduced in Australia by H. Kemp in 1914 as 'Aviateur Blériot'.
Class:
Found Rose, Hybrid Wichurana, Rambler.  
Bloom:
Yellow, golden-yellow center, lemon-yellow undertones, ages to white .  Moderate, magnolia fragrance.  34 petals.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 12' to 15' (365 to 455cm).  Width: up to 6' (up to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Prune after flowering is finished.

Notes:
Named for Louis Blériot, (1872-1936). The first man to make an international aeroplane flight, from Calais to Dover on on 25 July 1909 in a small 24-h.p. monoplane.
