Bred by George Sinclair (United Kingdom, before 1826).

Climber, Hybrid Sempervirens, Rambler.  
Bloom:
Blush.  Pale red.  Large, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters, rosette bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.

Named in honor of John Russell, sixth Duke of Bedford, by George Sinclair who worked as superintendent of the Woburn Abbey estate owned by the Duke.
