Introduced in Japan by Yokohama Nursery Co., Ltd. in 1893 as 'Adzuma Nishiki'.
Introduced in France by Auguste Dessert in 1906 as 'Adzuma Nishiki'.

Hybrid suffruticosa, Tree peony.  
Bloom:
Crimson, scarlet shading, white edges, yellow undertones.  Average diameter 9".  Large, single to semi-double bloom form.
