Introduced in United States by Peony Gardens of George Hollis in 1907 as 'Admiral Togo'.

Hybrid lactiflora.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red, brown shading.  Moderate, medicinal fragrance.  Medium to large, double, cupped bloom form.  Midseason.  
Habit:
Compact, medium, upright.  Dark foliage.
