Bred by Francis Meilland (1912-1958) (France, 1957).
Introduced in France by URS (Universal Rose Selection)-Meilland in 1957 as 'Sarabande'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1959 as 'Sarabande'.
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1959 as 'Sarabande'.
Class:
Floribunda.  
Bloom:
Orange-red to geranium-red, yellow stamens.  Mild fragrance.  13 petals.  Average diameter 2.5".  Medium to large, semi-double (9-16 petals), in large clusters, cupped-to-flat, ruffled bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy.  Semi-glossy foliage.  

Height: 20" to 28" (50 to 70cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose or garden.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
