I see so many BD's that bloom so amazingly well. I had mine as a band (own root) and even in its third year to forth is still much less vigorous and stingy in bloom than anyone else's I've seen. I have it in a pot and I am not sure what to do to it to make it more prolific. Maybe it was a runt or something. I still keep it around because I love the classic-looking bloom but it's just not doing it for me in terms of overall performance.

Zone 6B update. I have 3 of these. The oldest one is over 5 years old, and was moved from my old house in SC. No dieback this winter on any of them. Still my healthiest roses. I do nothing special. No winter protection. I wish they all grew like these.

If you allow to grow only just one rose, this is the one.

Mine blooms a lot but branches can grow out low so I have to cut them off so it grows up more. It could be because the ground around it is hard pan.
