Breeder's notes:
'Kindred Ice' is undergoing trials in an open no-spray garden position and is so far doing nicely. Vigour at 12 months is improving. Height at 12 months of age is approx 10-15cm. Growth is accelerating now. Shows strong wichuraiana influence. Bred in zone 9b... growth identical to that of 'Green Ice' in look and health. 'Kindred Ice' WAS seeming to setting OP hips this year... these have self-cleaned. I have pollinated it to test for female fertility. Virtually no pollen is produced.

Edit: Growth is leaning towards spreading at 1.5 years of age. Flowers hold pink colour well in the heat.

Edit 2: No pollinations took in the 2008-2009 season. It seems it is going to be about as fertlle as its parent; 'Green Ice'. Will try Multiflora hybrid pollen on it in the 2009-2010 season.

Edit 3: 22nd March, 2010. Nearly lost the plant in 2010. The plant was trampled and badly broken by animals in the test bed. In an attempt to try and save it I transplanted it mid summer (30-35ÂșC days) into a more secure location. On the up-side, all the broken pieces were struck and I now have five plants instead of just one :) Submitted ICRA registration for this seedling on 21st March, 2010. It's 'pet-name' ('Kindred Ice') has been changed to 'Rose Tutu' (two reasons... first the little flowers look like frilly little ballerina's tutus and secondly it's a bit of a play on words of the 80's Aussie soft rock bad, headed by Angry Anderson; Rose Tattoo). Original plant has made a full recovery and cuttings are growing well :) Still no OP hips seen though stigma look like they may be developing properly now the plant is more mature and may be receptive to pollination at the end of 2010.
