The Sun and the Heart (HARtyre). The crimson eye is deep in the heart of this astonishing rose. Of the three newcomers it has the best potential for group planting, being compact, sturdy and floriferous. It grows bushily to 60 x 60[c]m (2 x 2 ft). The blooms are in the quartered style of Victorian roses, with rather more petals than is ideal for displaying their crimson hearts until they open wide. Parentage: (R. persica seedling x 'Baby Love') x (R. persica seedling x 'Baby Love'). the name of this rose comes from a poem by Rudolf Steiner which begins:
Sun, thou bearer of rays, ....
