Few or no prickles/thorns.
Breeder's notes:
This cross of Ralph Moore's climbing yellow miniature, the sister seedling of Rise'n Shine, with R. Hugonis has resulted in a completely thornless, once blooming plant. Foliage and flower resemble Hugonis. The wood is photo reactive, turning lovely purple in cold weather and bright sun.

For its first decade, this plant has remained without prickles, except for the dense bristles around the base of one large cane. Now, at the ripe old age of twelve-plus years, it has developed a cane with broad based, deep red prickles on the lower quarter of its length. The rest of the plant has remained prickle free, including the lack of prickles on the foliage mid ribs.
