Breeder's notes:
R. Fedtschenkoana has fascinated me for years. It has been determined to have been one of the early species which created the Old European Garden Roses. Repeat blooming OGRs, therefore, should have doses of both China and hybrids of Fedtschenkoana. Rayon Butterfiles is a seedling of Mateo's Silk Butterflies, which is China Rose out of Mutabilis. Crossing this continuous blooming China rose with my Dottie Louise X Fedtschenkoana seedlings should result in modern versions paralleling the old European roses. Perhaps something resembling Damasks, Portlands, Centifolias but with more saturated coloing due to the infusion of Orangeade. The disease resistance may even be improved through the effects of Basye's Legacy. Sort of recreating OGRs but with infusion of modern hybrids. How much fun is that? Lots!
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
This was one of a group of seedlings which endured the summer of 2009 without irrigation, in partial shade in Newhall, CA until being rescued and made "happier".
